Growing Readers from the Start: Supporting Kolbe Early Elementary Center

The Vicki Soto Memorial Fund is honored to announce a donation to Kolbe Early Elementary Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in support of its dedication to early childhood education and foundational literacy. Kolbe’s work mirrors the passion that defined Vicki’s career as an educator: nurturing young learners with joy, patience, and a love of reading.

Early literacy is at the core of everything we believe in as a foundation. The years when children first hold a book, listen to a story, or begin recognizing letters can shape a lifetime of confidence and curiosity. Kolbe Early Elementary Center plays an essential role in that journey. With committed educators and thoughtfully designed learning experiences, the school builds strong academic foundations while celebrating imagination and exploration.

This donation will support the purchase of literature and early learning materials—tools that empower children to fall in love with reading while developing important skills. Books open doors to creativity, vocabulary growth, problem-solving, empathy, and joy. By investing in early literacy at Kolbe, we are investing in a future where more children will have that door opened for them.

Supporting Kolbe aligns directly with Vicki’s legacy as a teacher who believed every child deserved access to resources that help them thrive. She knew that even the smallest readers are capable of big ideas and bigger dreams—if they have the chance to discover them.

Thank you, Kolbe Early Elementary Center, for your dedication to building strong educational foundations and inspiring lifelong learners. Together, we are keeping Vicki’s legacy alive by Living, Laughing, and Loving through the power of literacy.
